Q:  How did you start working as a brand ambassador?

A: I was looking for a job at Switch because I had heard great things about the company and the people. I applied for a position as a Brand Ambassador on the Elsevier team with Switch and ended up getting the job. I traveled the country marketing their medical database at hospitals and medical schools.

Q:  What advice do you have for someone just starting out as a brand ambassador, or who wants to become a brand ambassador?

A: Take advantage of every opportunity. Being a brand ambassador allows you to travel to new places, meet new people, and experience new things. I tried my best to explore new cities, restaurants, and engage with locals. Being a brand ambassador is truly an awesome experience, so my advice would be to take advantage of every opportunity.

Q:  Why do you feel brand ambassadors are important for brands?

A: Brand ambassadors are the face of the brand. For some, talking to a brand ambassador is the first interaction he or she will have with the brand, so they are extremely important. A great brand ambassador will go above and beyond when engaging with potential customers and could sell them on the brand for life.

Q:  How did you start working as a brand ambassador?

A:  When I was 18, I started to do a little bit of modeling for small T-shirt companies around the Orange County and LA area. After a year or so of grinding, trying to find the next photo shoot, I quickly realized that there isn't much money out there for an amateur male model with little to no experience. With that in mind, I started to search for other ways to fund my "modeling career,” and of course pay the bills.

Through networking with other models and like-minded individuals, I was able to find my first brand ambassador position at a store opening for a new clothing store in LA. Back then, I'd work brand ambassador gigs maybe two times a month, if I was lucky. Nowadays and for the past two and a half years, I have been blessed to be with a company that keeps me busy as a brand ambassador pretty much year round.

Q:  What did you think when you found out you were nominated as a 2017 Brand Ambassador of the Year?

A: I didn't believe it at first. My Director of Operations Manager, Josh Harrold, texted me one morning and asked if I was free from May 2nd - May 5th but wouldn't tell me why so I just assumed it was for another out of state event or something. To my surprise, after our morning meetings that day, he pulled me aside and told me the news. I was literally speechless; I just stared at him and our Account Executive, who was in the room with us also, and then smiled ear to ear. They went on to tell me why they nominated me which quickly turned into me fighting back tears. I was and still am very honored to be selected as one of the best!

Q:  Why do you feel brand ambassadors are important for brands?

A: A great brand ambassador will represent the brand the right way. Brand ambassadors are important for brands because the CEO of every brand can't possibly be at every event to show their passion for their product and spread the vision they had when they first started their journey. All they have to show for their vision is you, the brand ambassador, and they are trusting you to relay the message for them in a way that will get a consumer excited to make that brand a part of their life. If I am having a bad day and I let that show through my performance while working an event, that can only result in bad feedback and may even cause the brand to lose a potential customer, all because they had a bad interaction with you. You ARE the brand, you must become the brand and gather as much info as possible about the brand so when you are asked questions, you don't come off as a third party who doesn't really understand why they are there in the first place.

Q: How did you start working as a brand ambassador?

A:  I love working with people and teaching them to live an outstanding life, so I left my job in corporate America to become a motivational speaker. In this role, I was approached about becoming a brand ambassador and decided it was an excellent way for me to have the best of both worlds.

Q: What’s your favorite part about being a brand ambassador?

A: Bringing a smile to a person’s face when they visit my display is my favorite part of being a brand ambassador. It allows me to leave a good impression for not only the brand I represent, but for me as a motivational speaker.

Q: Why do you feel brand ambassadors are important for brands?

A: We are the face of the brands we represent. Like they say, you only get one chance to make a first impression and often brand ambassadors are just that. That’s why it is so important to select the right people for a brand activation.

Q: Do you have a favorite story or memory from your time as a brand ambassador?

A: I have so many, but if I had to pick, I’d say it was my time as a “Hype” speaker for the 2002 Winter Olympics. I had the pleasure of getting people “psyched” and ready for the day’s activities and was even allowed to run with the Olympic torch!

Q:  How did you start working as a brand ambassador?

A: I started by helping out a friend from school in NYC who was running an event at the Toronto International Film Festival. It ended up reconnecting us as great friends.

Q: What’s your favorite part about being a brand ambassador?

A: When you find that person who is so absolutely thrilled to have been introduced to your product — as if it were truly made just for them — and they leave walking on clouds; it's an infectious energy.

Q: What advice do you have for someone just starting out as a brand ambassador, or who wants to become a brand ambassador?

A: Have fun. SERIOUSLY. People are so interesting and you can make some great friends.

Q: Why do you feel brand ambassadors are important for brands?

A: We put a human touch to marketing, almost like the old days when we didn't look everything up online.

As you can see, brand ambassadors are more than just the face of a brand, they are the ones making the connection between a brand and consumers. And for that, we’d like to thank all of the brand ambassadors for what they do every single day.
