Build An All-Star Team of Gig Workers

Having a reliable team is key to a successful business. When utilizing gig workers, clients often want to see the same faces back at their location. In this post we’ll cover the best way to build a trusted team using Shiftgig, along with some frequently asked questions about who is showing up for your shift.

ALL STAR STAFF

The Shiftgig app allows clients to “All Star” Specialists they’d like to work with again in the future. This is a great way to start building your team of workers. All Stars receive a four hour advance notice to claim your shift once it’s posted. From there it’s opened up to “veteran” workers who are Specialists who have worked two or more shifts for you in the past 30 days. All Star and veteran advance notice is only applicable for shifts posted outside of 48 hours. Shifts posted inside that time frame will automatically be distributed to all eligible workers. For new clients without an established All Star roster, open shifts will immediately appear to our qualified worker pool.

We suggest having a few All Stars on your account to ensure you’re building a roster of your favorite, preferred workers who will see your shifts the moment they’re available. You’ll notice there is also an option to block workers. Blocking workers you do not want to see back is just as important as All Starring the ones you do. By keeping your All Star and blocked lists up-to- date, you’ll have some control over who works your shifts. Keep in mind your all stars might not be available for all your shifts, and by seeing new workers, you may find another person you’d like to All Star. It’s helpful to place your orders as far in advance as possible so your all stars have the ability to claim your shift.

Q:
How do I all star/block?all-star-with-taps

A: To All Star (or block) a Specialist, go to your roster in the client portal, click on the Specialists name, and click All Star. (Here’s how to view and share your roster.) You can remove an All Star/block the same way.


Q:
Why can’t my All Star see my shift?

A: An All Star might not see your shifts for a few reasons:

  • They are scheduled for another assignment.
  • They don’t have the necessary skills for that position.

Regardless of being All Starred, Specialists have the option to work when they want and where they want, so in some instances, your all star may not claim your shift due to the following:

  • They have a personal obligation/are unavailable that day.
  • They have work outside of Shiftgig.
  • They missed the advance notice and another All Star/veteran/Specialist claimed the shift.
