Last week we hit the road and headed down to the Tar Heel State for the American Staffing Association’s newly rebranded Staffing Connect East. Staffing Connect is ASA’s regional conference where agencies and staffing experts can come together at a smaller, more focused event to discuss staffing benchmarks, growth strategies, and industry best practices. Here are our 5 key takeaways from the sessions at Staffing Connect East this year.
The gig economy is here to stay, and it’s changing the way people work. No longer confined to freelancers and independent contractors offering services for hire, gig workers now include talented full-time employees looking for extra income, retirees looking for meaningful experiences, stay-at-home parents wanting to add to their family’s finances, as well as workers who use gigging as their main income source.
This week we sponsored a webinar hosted by Staffing Industry Analysts, “How Marketplace Technology Can Help You Engage the Next Generation of Workers.” Our CEO Rick Bowman led the conversation and was joined by CEO and Co-Founder of EZgig, Lyle Hanna, and SIA Research Manager, David Francis.
Next week we’re heading down to Miami for VMSA Live + The Summit 2019, which takes place at 1 Hotel South Beach from Tuesday, January 29 to Thursday, January 31. VMSA Live is a one-day annual conference that brings together experts in the contingent workforce supply chain. That means everyone from Enterprise organizations, suppliers of contingent labor, great technology companies, and more! We’re looking forward to three days of innovative sessions, great conversation, and a little fun. Here’s what we’re most excited for:
We’re looking forward to an exciting week as we head out to Washington D.C. for Staffing World 2018, which takes place October 16-18 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. We’re honored to be sponsors at this staffing and recruiting-focused expo, which promises innovative presentations and discussions involving some of the industries most respected leaders.
Visiting Texas is always a good idea but it’s definitely more exciting when you’re looking forward to a conference like SIA’s Collaboration in the Gig Economy Oct. 4-5 in Dallas. We expect to have a great time at this much-anticipated event and we can’t wait to meet you.
