Earlier last month, I found myself on Staffing Industry Analysts’ Staffing 100 list for the first time. I wanted to take a couple of minutes to share what this means for Shiftgig, for me personally and for all of you, our customers.
This year started off nothing short of amazing. We secured a significant funding round in January, as a result of our hard work and some bets paying off in 2016, and the great outlook we have for 2017. We believe this will be a transformative year for the on-demand space – it’s not news to be an independent worker anymore, it’s simply a reality that we are finding more verticals for them to work when, where and how we want. To be able to create financial opportunities for our Specialists to improve their lives and achieve their goals is a vision coming true. And we mean it. That will always be at the heart of everything we do here.
For me personally, I love that Staffing Industry Analysts is giving the on-demand industry a prominent seat at the contingent workforce table. In its Workforce Solutions Ecosystem, SIA had this to say about Shiftgig and other providers in our space: “The reason the Human Cloud is important is because a lot of innovation is being led by companies operating in this space with new business models seeming to appear on almost a weekly basis.” Validation like this keeps me excited about what I get to do every day, which is lead an innovative company that’s changing the face of work - and making it easier for companies like you to find and utilize our talented Specialists.
That innovation is really a direct result of working with each of you. We see our customers as an extension of our own team – just by using our technology and deploying our Specialists, we’re able to gain an immense amount of information of what’s working, what’s not and what we should think about engineering next.
