What They Do
Gesture helps charities, non-profits, schools, and sports teams of all sizes through its mobile fundraising platform and charity event solutions. Through their production of over 5,000 events across national markets, Gesture has managed 2.0 million donors, 2.5 million bids, and $350+ million raised.
Charity events are often at the mercy of seasonality, which creates instability for workers. For that reason, Gesture wouldn’t be able to utilize a full-time staff to fulfill its events. Its event model would require a flexible workforce available for mostly evening and weekend work who would have experience in the event space.
Gesture was one of Shiftgig’s first event marketing clients, relying on an on-demand workforce to staff its events with highly trained hourly workers (G-Pros) and on-site managers (OSMs). Through Shiftgig, Gesture is able to access a pre-qualified, highly experienced group of workers for events in various cities.
Since working with Shiftgig, Gesture has not only seen an improvement in the quality of its workers, but they’ve also been able to manage events better both on- and off-site.
On-site managers are able to get real-time roster updates and roll-up views of event details as well as gain access to a centralized point of communications for OSMs to update G-Pros of logistics changes.
After the event, teams are able to see all G-Pro hours reported, captured and reconciled within the Shiftgig app. Gesture also has access to the in-app data trail of late arrivals, no-shows and other anomalies, and a more streamlined invoicing and billing process. When you’re producing hundreds of events each year, those metrics matter and Gesture has really been able to use them to its advantage.
